ACTION NAME: Professional development and staff training towards sustainability issues and practice.
DESCRIPTION
To have at least one inspiring visitor to give lecture to the staff about the issue within this school year and to encourage staff to choose and give funding priority to staff that want to do professional development within this field.
MEASURABLE GOAL
1.At least one lecture to be given on campus for staff.
2. At least 5 staff members to go away on professional development towards sustainability.
TIMEFRAME AND MILESTONES
Before summer 2012 for initial professional development then ongoingwith a minimum one person each year.

STATUS: Bill McKibben gave a guest lecture in October 2010. New IB course E. Systems and Societies is proving popular with students. The course satisfies the needs of IB group 3 and/orIndividuals Societies and Group 4 Natural Sciences CAS coordinator/ ESS teacher attended IB workshop on CAS Academic Programs Director/ ESS teacher now workshop leader in ESS.
